Certification: AS 9100

The Challenge

When India’s premiere state owned aerospace and defence company, headquartered in Bangalore, India under the Ministry of Defence, needed to go on a certification exercise for AS 9100, they turned to NVT QC. The objective was to assure customer satisfaction across ventures in aviation, space and defence organizations and to provide, and continually improve and provide safe and reliable products and services that meet or exceed customer and conform to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Certification journey and business impact

NVT QC was the first choice for almost all divisions of HAL owing to the aerospace expertise. This has led to certification of most of the manufacturing divisions and R & D centers to AS 9100 series of standard by NVT QC.

The partnership with NVT QC has helped HAL maintain its customer focus, given the critical nature of its support to India’s defence establishment, such as the Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Indian Navy for their defence preparedness. Through the focus of NVT QC audits and through the process of customer satisfaction (KPI’s) monitoring, NVT QC added value to HAL in fine tuning their processes, achieving continual improvement in customer satisfaction index in last decade.
